How-To - Charge a Battery from the Engine Bay

Connect the positive cable/clip from the battery charger to the positive side of the solenoid (as shown with red circle in picture), you may need to move the plastic cover out of the way to get good metal on metal contact.

Connect the negative side of the charger to a well earthed head bolt/stud (as shown with black circle in picture). 

Leave the battery charger connected and  switched on until the charger indicates that the battery is charged.
